Digital Games
& Learning Portfolio
Welcome to my Graduate Studies Portfolio for the Digital Games and Learning Course at York University. This space is dedicated to my weekly reflections, game prototyping and final design project. This page is both a working notebook for the course and a showcase of how games intersect with education, identity and inclusive cultural design
About Me
Hi! My name is Saran...
My name means 'Joy and safe refuge,' an intentional choice by my parents, who hail from Jamaica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
I'm a Master's student in the Graduate Program in Language, Culture and Teaching at York University. I am interested in research that explores immersive education, culturally responsive pedagogy and Afrodiasporic storytelling practices in the digital age. More specifically, I want to explore how game design and digital play can serve as important tools for belonging, identity affirmation and development.
