Herbal baths for cleansing and detoxification

It’s October 28th and we are fresh off the heels of a potent new moon in Scorpio. The new moon offers us the opportunity to start a new, planting seeds that will grow if we nurture and support ourselves through out the cycle, observing and integrating the lessons we learn along the way.

Ritual baths as a form of cleansing and detoxification is a practice I look forward to at particular lunations as a means of clearing space, new intentions and new visions.

My chosen herbs are Lavender, Sage, Calendula and Rosemary. Both Rosemary and Lavender are aromatic herbs that have a calming effect on the nervous system. Rosemary is a circulatory herb that improves blood flow while Sage has antiseptic properties and clears energy. Calendula is a beautiful sunny herb, known in folklore to cast light on areas of darkness and stagnation in the body and helps soothe the skin.

Directions:

In a large pot, bring 8 litres of water to a boil. Ad 1/4 of a cup of each herb to the pot and steep on low heat for 15 minutes.

Add strained herbal tea blend to your bath WATER

Add 1 cup of Epsom salts and 1/4 cup of Himalayan pink salt

Add 1 teaspoon of Vitamin C powder (Ascorbic Acid) to neutralize the effects of chlorine

Enjoy your relaxing bath for 15- 30 minutes.
